getting back to the OP topic, we are living in a country where the IRS, the most feared government agency for anyone who makes money, is sicked (sp) on the Presidents political enemies, and you are blaming it on the Mexicans? Or blaming the republicans because they are not tough on immigration? Not sure what Mexico has to do with a corrupt IRS, and probably a corrupt President. Or at least a corrupt democratic party who has been controlling a feared government agency. just kidding, but stick to the topic and stop dropping low blows about how bad the republicans are
Italy is a catholic country. Just compare catholic countries to protestant countries. Economically we are beating the shit out of them, and always have.
but getting back to the original topic, we are living in a country where a government agency can totally fuck up your life. And the only solution is to take away their power. And a simple solution is to eliminate the corporate income tax, carried interest, the mortgage exemption (for all new homes purchased) and the charitable contribution exemption. then the only thing they would have to go after is the individual and I trust the individual to do a much better job than a big corporation As it stands now, Exxon Mobile, GM, the Koch Brothers and the AFL-CIO are writing our tax code, and I'm not sure they have my best interest at heart.
Rep. Darrell Issa Says He Caught the Justice Department Red-Handed Conspiring with House Dems on IRS Documents House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) says the Obama administration’s Justice Department has been caught red-handed trying to orchestrate the leak of committee documents related to the ongoing IRS investigation, which would have allowed Justice to comment on the documents before Republicans made them public. Issa says he has clear evidence of this — a Justice official mistakenly called Issa’s staff directly, instead of calling a Democratic office, and asked Issa’s staff to leak the information “before the Majority” — meaning Republicans — could share it. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) says the Justice Department, led by Attorney General Eric Holder, has been caught trying to disrupt the GOP investigation into the IRS. (AP Photo/Susan Walsh) “I am extremely troubled by this attempt to improperly coordinate the release of committee documents with the minority staff,” Issa wrote to Attorney General Eric Holder in a Monday letter. “This effort to preemptively release incomplete and selectively chosen information undermines the department’s claims that it is responding in good faith.” According to Issa’s letter, a senior Justice official called the committee on Friday, and reached Issa’s Republican staff. The official said Justice was sending over certain documents to Republicans that evening related to Andrew Strelka, a former IRS official who now works at Justice and is involved in the IRS investigation. Republicans have complained about Strekla’s involvement in the case given his past work at the IRS. The official then said Justice was not allowed to release the documents to the press, but said Justice wanted to get it to the press somehow so it could comment on the documents before Issa could. The official “then asked the committee employee if the committee would agree to release the material to selected reporters and thereby allow the department the opportunity to comment publicly on it,” Issa wrote. When Issa’s staff asked for the documents, the Justice official put the call on hold for about three minutes, during which he apparently realized his mistake. Issa said when the call resumed, the Justice official was “audibly shaken,” and said there was a “change in plans” — Justice would no longer seek to release the documents early. Issa said he realizes that emails and other communications are often shared, but said the call seems to be proof that committee Democrats are working with the Obama administration to “obfuscate and prejudice the committee’s work through under-the-table coordination.” Issa also dismissed the Justice official’s later attempt to explain away the call by saying it was aimed at fostering a closer working relationship with Republicans. “The department’s efforts to prejudice the committee’s oversight work demands examination,” Issa wrote. “I ask that you provide a detailed explanation for each of the department’s ex part communications with the minority members or staff about committee investigations or strategies for blocking and undermining oversight.” Issa asked that Holder provide this information by Monday, September 15. I really don't think anybody should be surprised at any of these things. After all, if this group will use phony credentials to put a man in the office of the presidency, what won't they do?
Unless the public backlash morphs into more than just talk and or Congress miraculously grows a scrotum. They're going to keep going down the path their on.
The best that we can hope for is that someone very unfriendly to Obama will get in the White House in 2016 and release a whole bunch of stuff on all these scandals.
The next administration, provided ti is republican, is unfortunately going to have to prosecute some of these people. Lerner for starts, the ex-IRS commissioner and some Justice Department people. It's a bad situation because that is the way third world countries operate. The new administration takes revenge on the old one by criminal prosecutions. It shows how far ddown Obama has taken us that we have to even consider such a step. Since the democrats are already vigorously going after any promising republican office holder they can with criminal porosecutions, turn about seems fair to me. If they could put Lerner in prison, it would send a clear message to any more IRS staffers.
Then the media will be all over the unethical behavior of someone from this new White House releasing "a whole bunch of stuff" that violates the sanctity of the office of the President. Just wait and see.
Who cares? They'll be all over the new administration (if it is a Republican) regardless! Why play ball?
