This is probably a technicallity, but if they are out past curfew they would not be law abiding.

  4. None of this matters. We declared war, the least we could do, is conduct a war.
No sympathy, just get the job done. Or come home and for get about it.

  6. "Is there even a curfew?? Soldiers should be given the orders to shoot first ask later ..is this the case now??? this isnt a court of law where we have to find reasonable doubt...either you follow the rules or you die....there is no other way out..... "

The bleeding hearts in america would never allow this.
So blame them for tying the hands of our soldiers.

  7. Military officials: no evidence U.S. bodies mutilated

MOSUL, Iraq (AP) -- U.S. military officials now say there's no sign the bodies of the two Americans killed yesterday in northern Iraq were mutilated.

Military sources say there's no sign the men were beaten with rocks or their throats slashed.

Witnesses had reported the soldiers were dragged from their car after gunmen shot them.

Iraqis say a mob pummeled the bloodied soldiers with concrete blocks and a few accounts said the soldiers throats were slashed.

But the military official says there's no evidence to back the claims.

The official says Iraqis robbed the car and stole personal effects from the soldiers' bodies.

The Pentagon has identified the men as Command Sgt. Maj. Jerry Wilson, of Thomson, Ga., and Specialist Rel Ravago IV, of Glendale, Calif.

  8. "Military says no evidence bodies were mutilated"????

Is that from the same geniuses who are prosecuting that Lt. Col> for roughing up a terrorist and foiling an attack on his men?

We seem to be treating this like it is a demonstration in LA. Obviously, it's not. I don't want to see innocent Iraqi's killed, but maybe if you're dancing around dead troops and robbing their bodies you're not so innocent. If an attack occurs in your neighborhood, maybe you should have informed the authorities that your neighbors had a weapons cache and were Saddam thugs. So when your house gets flattened along with theirs, blame them not the US.

There is an ugly but effective way to deal with this. Remove the populations from areas where there are persistent attacks, put them in refugee camps under armed guard and go house to house and search for weapons. Confiscate the weapons and destroy the houses where they were found. Keep those who lived there under detention and eventually let the others go home.

Our troops obviously should not be riding around in HV's alone, like these two poor guys were. And there should be a rigid curfew. As long as our troops are getting killed, it can not be life as usual for the Iraqi's.
