Brittany might actually reform and get better you see, this government thingy, with $12 Billion in lobbying every year, it is not going to, put it on ignore until everything collapses and that can take a while, Rome went from Republic to Empire and was incredibley corrupt... and then after a few hundred years it collapsed :)

  3. As a greedy capitalist pig, maybe you should educate yourself on the basics of the struggle.

The way to keep the poor from revolting and refusing to labor for the rich, is to give them enough money to be adequately satisfied with their position in life. Cause people like you are definitely not going to do any real work. It's really not that much, just give enough socialist handouts to keep them happy and you can still enjoy a very frivilous luxurious lifestyle that makes you feel soooo special.

When that line is crossed, revolutions start. It's happened before, more than once. The idiotic distractions do not work forever, unfortunately that magical picture box cannot sustain basic physiological needs.

Seriously man, is it ever enough? Maybe your greedy dreams are far from fulfilled but WTF are those absurd tax breaks for? So that Paris Hilton can buy a 100 more Prada bags? Have you ever even considered the spoiled stupid ignorant rich babies that benefiting from Bush's tax cuts.

They make SH*T. Try inquiring how much it is to be a teacher in a major metropolitan area.
A few rich gentrified neighborhoods do not show what really goes on. Schools run practically bankrupt.

You should move to Central America, I think you will like it better there. Once there, maybe you can start lobbying for slavery to make it more official.

  5. I fucking love paying taxes. I especially love paying my quarterly estimated payment regardless of my actually P&L which goes to finance a war not of my choosing which empowers militant shi'a who want to kill me. My favorite part is having a 250K quarterly tax bill when my P&L is for the quarter is 150K. I fucking love that part. And I really loved the 10% marginally surcharge on all of my income above 300K. Who didn't? Anyone who doesn't love that part is a commie pinko POS. And anyone who doesn't understand that .....doesn't understand that....and doesn't understand that.....that we must fight them there so we don't have to fight them here....and stuff....and stuff. At least that's what I heard....and stuff.

So this time I think I'll vote for the Big Spending Republicans .....or No....maybe I'll vote for the Big Taxing Democrats..... or No .... maybe I'll just shoot myself and save everyone the trouble....or No....maybe I'll just continue to move more and more of my assets and income offshore in my little silent protest of starving the immoral pig that is the state,

    Who is John Galt?

  7. Pabst, I want to ask you a question. As God is my witness, I am promising you that this is a totally honest and genuine question - I am not baiting you.

Did you actually think the statement above was true or did you know it wasn't true, and were just trying to make a point?

Median Salary is more like $52,000 for Chicago area teachers. I think past was trying to make a point... that he knows only rich teachers. By the way, it appears that past does not pay payroll taxes... at least that is what I can infer from his post. He must be paying these people cash. I believe that is illegal. So, either he is lying or is a cheating schumbag and should be prosecuted.

Teaching.... part time job with MONTHS of vacation, several of them, in a row no less. How much should it pay? Enough to get qualified people to do the work, just like every other job, and so far, it seems to be working. We could pay them less and less every year and still get qualified people to do the job. My daughter was taught by gals making $10k in a Christian school and she got a great education. I helped her with her homework and it was not in the same world as my mental torture at the hands of the public education system, not in the same world even. I was looking forward to homework because I was learning.

This teacher thing verifies for me that unions see their job as getting their members enough pay so that the employer is bankrupted, but not so bad that it cannot recover. Ford, GM, etc, sort of proves my theory.

  10. What gives you the impression that it's working? The plummeting literacy rates? The fact that kids are showing up in first year university unable to spell or read? The fact that kids from other countries are snapping up the spots in our best schools because the have the secondary school marks?

Yep, I guess we could pay teachers less and less every year. That would probably be a good idea. We could also slash education budgets.

Seriously, whatever you happen to believe about education is fine with me. You strike me as someone who doesn't much care about education, more like the kind of guy who respects someone who makes something of himself from nothing. My only question was to Pabst about this incredible claim that after 10 years, teachers make 100K.

By the way, I am essentially with you re: unions.
