there is no minimum drinking age in Wisconsin to this day from what a friend from there tells me. You have to be accompanied by a parent to the bar though. She says her dad would take her brother to bars after hunting trips starting at 12 yrs old! So, as an example, if a boy/man with age of 17 and he already has a son of age 3, can this boy/mand take his son to bar and still drink? How about his 3 year old? Can he drinks as well? Now, how can they prove their parent/son relationship?
No, I'm from Canada . I just heard the story but not exactly the time of the story and in which State. I'd like to thank all those guys to clarify the issue. As it turns out to be very useful information regarding permission for drinking alcohol in different States and within a particular time frame.
To think I could of moved to any of these states and seriously started my drinking career at 18. I missed out on 3 good years. Unbelievable. Excuse me while I go drink a few Corona's followed by a few Sol's.
Why has this thread been renamed from racism at IB to Iraq and IB ? and btw. that you can't drink under 21 in the USA is pathetic and doesn't work, under age kids drink at home and elsewhere and as soon as they turn 21, you need to pick them up at the bar close with a wheelbarrow. I guess the only positive -for guys- is that it 's always easier to pick up a drunk chick for the night. We start drinking -heavily- at 16 in Europe, chicks don't go home with strangers and by the age of 21 we are pretty much over it. Of course we can't drive before 18 or 17. You send your 18 year old kids to the slaughter in Iraq and elsewhere but won't let them have a drink before ! F*ck that and the republicans.
Talk about strange laws: There are places you cannot drink after midnight. But it is ok to flash your boobs during certain times of the year, even if you are under 21.
Duh. Thread has been renamed because there is no racism at IB? Just because you allow kids to drink heavily at 16 in Europe doesn't mean squat except for the stupidity factor. Heavily drunk chics don't go home with strangers in Europe? BS. And you are over drinking at 21? You must be kidding. Good that you can't drive before 17 or 18 though since you become alcoholics at such an earlier age. I think it's funny that you can get drunk but you can't drive at an earlier age. How do your kids get to work? Or do they work at all before 18? Oh, that's right, they are too busy getting drunk. I guess the governments over there need the booze tax money? You send your kids to the bar and that's why they can't stand up against the war against terror. Little babies.
Thanks for the replies. The posters calling me a terrorist / lowlife / ad nauseum were certainly illuminating. Thankfully I have many friends and former classmates and colleagues from the US so I know that such views are not representative of the US population. I have several points to clarify regarding my post; 1-It was intended as a warning to others of middle-eastern "ORIGIN" vis-a-vis opening an account with IB. I'm sure it doesn't affect anybody born In copenhagen. 2-I don't have dual citizenship, only British. 3-I don't see where I suggested going to the USfor people to write "don't let this lowlife in the US"?? (was I applying for a US Visa at IB?) 4-I worked at the UK Ministry of Defence and my father was an employee at the Pentagon for 3 years. 5-Another US broker opened an account for me with the same documentation without asking ANY QUESTIONS. (ThinkOrSwim) in the same WEEK that I applied to IB. So are ThinkOrSwim not regulated? Not subject to the same compliance rules? 6- Comparing TOS with IB, would you say I was wrong to accuse them of being racist?
