If the US wants to carry out hostile policies against us, we stop oil exports to this country," Ramirez was quoted as saying by the official Iranian news agency IRNA after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart in Tehran. "We can not steadily export oil to the US and be steadily subject to its hostility. Some actions should be taken against this situation," said the minister, who is accompanying President Hugo Chavez on a visit to the fellow anti-American state. Ramirez has also blamed US policies in Iraq and against Iran and other oil exporters for high oil prices of above $70 per barrel. "The situation in Iraq is awful. The hostile US reaction against Iran and some oil producers and exporters is the reason why oil prices have reached the current level." .

Lebanon is in ashes and nobody is doing anything? Of course not, why would the US get involved? No threat, and has no strategic value. BUT, Steve was stating what would happen if Iran started attacking shipping lanes in the gulf. That is a major threat to the entire World economy. Yes, Iran could easily do it, but they NEVER will. Why? Because Tehran would be flattened within days, if not hours. I generally doubt if the US would actually invade, but they would certainly bomb the crap out of the place. In addition to massive infrastructure damage, and untold lives lost, Iran would then have no income. They would certainly cripple the economies of many countries for awhile, but it would be absolute suicide for them. Sort of like a Kamikaze flight, but on a national basis.
