So you are saying we sponsored the Ayotollah to come to power and supported him when he took hostages? Wow I would love to see your history books.... I thought he was an enemy of the U.S.
However Captain Obvious has expressed a third, seemingly valid, opinion which is the one based on mutually assured total destruction, and it has the appeal of a level playing field behind it as well. It's an opinion not without some real world evidence in its favor. Not taking a side here, just pointing out that there is more than one opinion on this matter that can be reasonably agrued. Personally I would prefer that no one had nuclear weapons, but that doesn't seem to be a realistic position. Nevertheless, IMO however, it was a serious U.S. mistake, for the U.S. to abandon the Iran Nuclear Deal. We can't always have our first choice, but sadly we can't always have even our second choice.
Because they will use it for nefarious purpose as opposed to us and Great Britain etc. This is common sense and doesn't need any further explanation.
When we are the good guys attempting to defeat the bad guys, there is no reason to have a level playing field. Your position is defeatist at best.
I know about that, I am talking about in the 1970s going forward when they became our hated enemy and started trying to get nuclear and got involved in sponsoring terrorism. Not someone who should have nukes so I don't subscribe to the "we are not the world police". Someone has to be.
You are one of the bad guys supporting the leader of the insurgents trying to overthrow the U.S. government. So your opinion means nothing. You should be in jail. After a fair trial of course
I did not support anyone trying to overthrow the US Government and I don't support that now. I do however support removing Leftist politicians by virtue of the ballot box.
Don't forget it was your hero who ruined a deal everyone agreed Iran was complying with to not get nuclear weapens. Now they are only weeks away from nuclear weapons.
