I heard on the radio today China is building a 70 seat airliner. I guess it is for moving those students around the globe...LOL... Or maybe for moving rice around from one part of China to another...
Dude, doesnt the us have to have, by law, calcium added to white basmati rice imports? Haven't chinese shipyards, in fact built the majority of new oceangoing transport vessels in the last ten years? Im not sure what point your trying to make, i just figure this is grist for the mill. That is, if grist is still imported, or if there are in fact any mills.

I agree the EU is a burocratic monster and I'm all for it to dismantle it, at least to some rudimentary level. The US is doing what the europeans have tried many times before, starting with the Romans, the Turks, Napoleon and Hitler, they all built, or tried to build an empire, and the higher the ambitions, the sooner it fell. The only unique thing about the US is the Consitution that was meant to keep checks and balances, and the strong respect for basic human rights like freedom of speech and privacy of information. These rights, although slowly eroded by Cheney and gang may still save the US from ultimate disaster, but it's getting tight. Prepare for desparate measures by the neocons to stay in power in the next election. Nothing would suprise me anymore. Like you I'm a citizen of the EU. You should know that these kinds of 'new era' experiments have been tried before and have failed terribly, costing millions and millions of human liives. I agree with you that this is the start of a new age and era, but I thnk it will have a totally different look than you and many expect. Ursa..
Good point, the oilsands are a possible failsafe. However, the fact that they aren't yet massively explored is also because the oil-price at which this can be done profitably is only just reached, around $60 (I think). And if they are the only source and capacity has to be enlarged fast, the effective oilprice would come around $100. Whatver happens, $100 is inevitable soon, and at that level many other, replenishable sources will be available. Ursa..
Who's anti-american? I'm not, I really love the country and it's people; they're not all like you, I know that for a fact. Were you in that video by Publisher? Amazing stuff, really jaw-dropping. Ursa..
