Iran - So, What's Gonna Happen Now?

Discussion in 'Politics' started by DrawDown, Aug 27, 2006.

  1. Israel is a bigger threat to us than Iran?
    What are you smoking???

Isreal is an aly, a western democracy, and not full of psychopaths that would destroy us the moment they had a chance to.

Lots of countries have nukes which are not a threat to us. Having nukes isnt what makes you a threat. Do people really need to SPLAIN these things?

  2. THAT'S like rejecting water when you've been walking in the desert heat for weeks, dying from thirst!

  3. No, Israel isn't a "western ally" when they go around as half-baked idiots dropping cluster bombs on children of Arab Muslim descent!

That's doing the USA no favors.

  4. Ever heard of the oil for food program? It was working just fine only four short years ago. And you do reject poisoned water even in the desert heat, dying from thirst.

At any rate I did not say it was going to be pretty, I said that even if Iran resorts to "legal" ways of making nukes the west has legal ways to respond, oil embargo is just one of many many options. Even though the west is desperate for oil, Iran is even more desperate to sell their oil. Do you actually know that Iran has to import 40% of its gasoline, their refining capacity is extremely small.

  5. Correction - they are dropping bombs on militants and terrorists who are hiding among "children of Arab Muslim descent", who are placing rocket launchers near schools and hospitals, who are using ambulances to transport explosives and suicide bombers.

  6. Rights are granted by a sovereign, either at the will of the people or because the sovereign has power sufficient to overcome the people's will. Among different nations, where no single sovereign or popular will exists, there can be no "rights."

The USA has the "power," not the "right," to develop nuclear weapons because no one can can prevent them from doing so. Iran may be able to develop nuclear weapons, unless some other more powerful nation prevents it.

You are imputing the existence of "rights" where none exist.

ummmmmm, we already do that to them! Try selling weapons to Iran and see how long the CIA will let you live.

You forget that Iran no longer needs the west. The Chinese will be happy to buy all their oil output and the Russians are all too happy to find a large customer for their arms industry.

You fail to realize that western Europe would also like to buy nat gas from Iran to balance and diversify away from the Russian inconsistency in supply.

This chess game has nothing to do with Bush's nonsense politics. The fool is a puppet and who ever is pulling his strings are playing for bigger odds. Unfortunately for the american public, the American government doesn't mind volunteering its citizens to do the dying.
