Bibi knows that this is his last chance to take action against his long time foe- Iran. Once this Hamas disaster is settled, he will be voted out. Not sure he wants to leave office with missile/drone strikes on the homeland being the last interaction with Iran. It's not like he needs to worry about re-election.
Let me remind our ET trolls that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton sold US uranium to Russia but, nobody remembers that don't they? Yet, it is President Donald Trump who has close ties to Russia? Make that make sense. Obama released $150 billion in frozen Iranian funds as a result of the deal with Iran on top of it.
Tough talk here from Naftali Bennett. It would be quite a feat if Israel cleans out Hamas, levels Gaza, then immediately engages Iran large scale. Taking on Iran won’t be easy. Iran has some capabilities defensively but their greatest strength is their geographical remoteness. The public at large really misses this point when they talk tough about Iran. Actually getting to the Iranians and their strategic capabilities is extremely difficult, even for the US. A ground war is virtually impossible too. We will see.
True dat somewhat. If Israel wants to make a statement they will hit a nuke site or their oil depots. If Israel actually wanted to defeat Iran (they don't, that is not their plan) they would start with hamas and hezbollah first. They can't just skip over those essentially Iranian forces right on their border and start focusing on the Iranian mainland. Iran has this faux outrage that the last killing were in an embassy related building and maybe there is something to that but they won't always be able to play that card in future take-downs. As far as targets that are vulnerable outside of Iran proper, the Israelis would hit the Iranian warships and intelligence gathering ships off Yemen supporting the Houthis and/or the Iranian owned and operated oil platforms in the Arabian sea. That would not be an attack on the Iranian soil but those are plenty decent targets and the isolation that you refer to works against them in that instance because they are pretty far removed from Tehran. The thing that is messy is that Iran was responding to the killing of Hamas/Iranian commanders. And while it is messy and dangerous now, Israel is not even remotely done with killing Iranian commanders who were involved in the Hamas attack or current fight. Biden and others are acting as though maybe Israel did something and Iran did something so leave it along. Except Israel plans to take out lots and lots more Iranians on the ground in the region. Not sure that plays well back in Camp Jihad.

I'll say it again... These people have been trying to kill each other long before we were born and will continue trying to do such for the next 100 years. wrbtrader
Israel should use facial recognition technology to find all these clowns who are celebrating and destroy them. Don't worry, in 3 weeks these same assholes are going to be claiming 'disproportionate force'. If this is the response of your citizenry, it is no wonder everyone hates you.
Israel has to be careful of mission creep. If they keep expanding the mission then they will become stretched thin, and this is already them being a nation of only 9m. Jets and missiles can only do so much. My general take on this is finish your breakfast. I don’t see how engaging Iran proper benefits Israel at this point in time. Thats just my take. I would focus on Hamas, Hezbollah and any little Iranian agents in the vicinity.
Iran's aerial attack on Israel was based on Russian tactics in Ukraine, war experts say https://www.yahoo.com/news/irans-aerial-attack-israel-based-120122040.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall
