Trump got lucky a little bit on this airllne downing thing. We know that the Iranians and their domestic supporters in this country- ie. the Democrats- desperately, desperately would like to be have been able to show that the Americans did it, but it did not go that way or is not going that way, if you prefer to put it that way- mostly because the plane was right in Tehran. If it had been a little further afield the dems and the Iranians would have spun lots and lots of Trump-related theories. After all, both the Dems and the Iranians belong to the Blame American First parties. Better luck next time. Get a candidate for gawd's sake.

I did mention the Iranian bomber in Bangkok who threw a bomb which hit a tree and bounced back towards him blowing his legs off. Iranian operations often include this element. When you start playing with war toys bad stuff can happen if you aren't trained properly. You've got Iranians trying to operate an advanced Russian air defense system. Good luck with that.
As discussed above, I am cutting the Iranians a day of slack but keeping my bullshitomer at the ready. Where is the black box/es headed? Which country. I need to see that to keep my bullshitomer from being so twitchy. Iran says now that the black box has been damaged. But I heard an aviation safety pundit say that Iran would not even know how to open them or process anything to know that. So if it is externally damaged, well then, which country is that going to for recovery analysis? Note the generosity of spirit in my giving them the benefit of the doubt for 24hrs.
