Let's go back to the original Q.

What did Israel say that started this thread? (original post 4-11-06)

No retaliation yet .... but oil is still up big. Any meaning here?

    'Cause they're scared.'

Any major western airforce like that of US/UK/France/Germany/Israel can dominate the Iranian skies within 48 hours. Iran's military forces and equiptment is in bad shape. Only way they can retailiate is via ammunition loaded missiles launched on Israel/US Troops, via 40,000 or so suicide bombers and covert terrorist operations around the world. They will also try to disrupt the oil supplies from gulf. If they have mass produced their missiles then they can launch them in 'bunch and waves' on US troop stations in Iraq and other than that they have no other way to answer.

They better not use any wmds or they will be nuked.

Terrorism, Guerrilla warfare and sea line sabotage are Iran's best answers. However, unlike Iraqi Generals who were forced to take illogical orders/strategies from the Donkey Hussien, Iranian high command is much more intelligent and practical. Most likely we may not even see any out in open troops involvement by Iran which they want to keep in store to check internal uprisings. The response will be mostly terrorism and guerilla type in a covert manner.

Israelis are not scared but are seeking the best and most efficient way of negating Iran's nuclear threat. IDF's Airforce and Navy can bring down its Iranian counterpart singlehandedly and that too over any chosen long weekend.

We may dominate their airspace, but they'd still have good reason to be scared down on the ground amongst their city streets. We can't be everywhere.

This is how we will be brought down. The have-not apes will continue to whittle our pile of bananas down, one shrieking theft at a time, from any and all directions.

I would agree though, that if the local population is hostile then even a superpower cannot win a guerrila warfare, especially if other countries are there to supply items of interests to the enemy elements.

Hence the old saying, "an army can defeat an army, but an army cannot defeat a people."

  7. I believe a people can not prosecute a war either! I would wonder just how solid the people would be if just once a real war was allowed. I wonder just how dedicated they would be if just once we took the restrictions off and really did, fight a war against a people instead of just an army.

Terrorists don't worry about outrage for collateral damage. They actually do practice war. I say go into the upcoming fight with the goal of making a peoples ~ QUIT or DIE!! Not just the politicians. Not just the army. But the peoples who support them also. They're either part of the problem or part of the solution. :)

  9. what are you advocating? collective punishment? mass genocide of a population in retaliation for actions of some of its members?

the US is already very strenuously "fighting" those that support combatants, to the extent they are identifiable - the only thing beyond that is indiscrimate murder of civilians.
