Are you ignorant of the fact that Ahmadinejad is re-running for election as President of Iran...and is unlikely to win? That was a great post. It is telling that anyone who voiced similar opinions on one of the sunday morning shows would be shouted down and never invited back. John McCain valued the friendship of the media over winning the presidency. He could have used his own moral authority to attack Obama relentlessly as a radical activist. Even if he had lost the election, he would have done the country a service by alerting people to what was to come. Perhaps they would have been less willing to accept blindly whatever Obama proposed. I think the analogy to the rise of Nazi Germany is misplaced however. The German people had legitimate grievances, which Hitler skillfully exploited. I don't see the american people having such grievances. If anything, we live in a fool's paradise, where people actually expect they should have a vastly greater standard of living than countries which outwork us, outproduce us, outeducate us and actually design their policies to promote economic efficiency. We elevate minor disagreements fomented by professional grievance promoters into major constitutional crises. We make it hard for rich, educated foreigners to move here but throw the doors wide open for the poor and uneducated. without much in the way of discussion, we adopt policies that will cause skyrocketing utility and energy costs, all to address a theoretical and unproven fear. I could go on. The analogy I find more accurate is Hugo Chavez or Juan Peron. They used class envy and populist rhetoric to consolidate power, and mob rule to retain and expand it. Obama, like chavez, has already displayed a frightening lack of respect for settled principles of law. If he can screw the creditors of Chrysler and GM in the name of the "workers", he can do the same thing to any company.

If David Kaiser was born in 1947 and raised in New England and was privileged enough to attend the best schools ... ....then how the fuck would he know what or how "Something of historic proportions...feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it..."
