I have been trading Equities in my IRA Rollover for 5 years now with no audit. The only drawback is NO margin and therefore no short selling.

  2. There is a way you could put 6k in your IRA by putting in 2003 and 2004 with your opening deposit before 04/15/04. You could put in 7k if your old enough (maybe 7.5k. I must look up if its 4k this year).

Ebo its not margin..... do not use this word with Futures. Were you in the quadriga thread earlier?

  3. Well, if you 'always thought' that, then you were most plainly Always Wrong.

"Main Source of Income?" It sounds like you don't even know what an IRA is.

"Also active traders cannot contribute to IRA's ?"

I'm an active trader and deducting IRA contributions on my tax returns.

Perhaps some research on your part might be in order.

  4. I deleted my last post, because I learned a little from your post. By the way it is not grammer I am correcting...its the definition of the word and its application, I am correcting. But interestingly don't brokers make one open a margin account to trade Futures or is it a cash account? Or is it just another type of account?

I gather you don't like Quadriga?

P.S. By the way are Futures considered instruments to speculate with....not to build ones retirement with?

P.S.S. Try not to stress out so much..... :)

  6. Pro funds is another type of service like Rydex..it has a 15k min...also brokerages like Scotttrade allow you to trade Rydex and Profunds for smaller amounts with no hidden fees.....

    Thanks Michael!
I use several of the RYDEX funds in my IRA.
The TITAN/TEMPEST and VELOCITY/VENTURE are great for index investing in the IRA and enable the "Short" effect!

  10. I particularly like the low drawdown at americafirst. So far it has hit a whopping 5.1%.....

The returns are not for ETr's ...but hey this is supposed to be a conservative retirement vehicle for an IRA...
