http://teamcoco.com/content/apple-employees-can’t-help-gloat-about-new-ipad A little different view of the 'new' ipad.
What do you guys think of the new Samsung tablet? http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/SGH-I987ZKAATT Compare to the ipad 2.
Ok, I am anonymous, and I will deny I ever posted this, as I am more anti Apple than I ever was anti MSFT. I just downloaded updates for my sons new I Pod touch that my Dad and I bought him for his B-Day(18th) and I spent some time looking through the crap it can do, and I have to admit it is ridiculous. This is just an I Pod it comes pretty close to replacing the I PHone. If it has a wirelss connection available you can have an app that it allows it to make VOIP calls. I picked up a Dell Streak 5 for $50 when I bought his graduation present, a laptop for college and I will compare it to his I pod Touch which cost quite a bit more, but is still adeal possible compared to the smart phones available. The Streak I bought is unlocked and works off WIFI only if I want, but I will see how it compares to the I Pod, which in reality cost quite a bit more, ie $280, which includes the discounts I could get and taxes.
I bought a ipad 2 , and i have to say its realy good , i use rdp to check how my trades are goin on my desktop pc , and i love the way you can read through threads on the sofa, close it and then continue were you left off. I find the best thing besides the mobility is the boot up time , which it a split second. Its good for me because i trade medium term , between a few days and some times can go a week without placing any trades so its good to get out of the office and be able to check on things on the go. Probably not so useful for short term traders.
Yesterday I stopped for just a minute at a kiosk to take a look at the xoom and the ipad2 . The immediate difference was the display quality lacked on the xoom. It did not look as sharp and bright as the ipad2. To be fair it could be the way it was adjusted and possibly the settings could have been changed to improve the display. There was also a glare on the xoom screen that ipad2 did not have. The xoom is set up easy enough to navigate around on it first use and find everything quickly. They are both similar in a very thin design and light which does help when holding the device in one hand. It would have been nice to have spent a few more minutes taking a look but I had to cut it short as the wife was on a shopping trip and that is serious stuff ...
