"Anyone know of any other paper trading system I can use that doesnt have strings attached?" ------------ Options Express and CBOE both have virtual accounts and require no funds to open (use same programe) Bill H.
I searched "investools" on Ebay, and there is a very simlar program available to the graphs & data that investools has, and the PHD desktop version is only like $54 bucks. I haven't bought it yet, but will probably soon. From what I read, it has a web based site as well that's only $50 bucks if you want to join it. May be worth it for less of a financial risk. I also use Folionfn.com. It has a free watch account that you can play with a portflio without investing any real money. Then if you're doing well, you can convert it to a real portfolio. Plus there membership fee is staggard, and I think that the cheapest was only like $19.95 a month with up to 400 trades...if I undestand it correctly.
Guys...I was inthe library and found textbooks for accounting, math, and finance. Was I ripped off by paying for a university education? I found all the information in books elsewhere!
absolutely not.... the operative word (s) being University education... unless of course you are referring to www.getyourdiplomaonlineinfourshortweeks.com
Just finished taking the basic stock course. The tools seem nice and they give you some basic knowledge. They do try to sell you everything and I even think they have people in the audience saying their brother turned 5,000 to 44,000... i dont know if that dude was with them or not... he even smoked a few cigarettes with me but I did not think that at the time... I think it now though after reading all of this!!!

I think it now though after reading all of this!!! I liked the small course that only cost me 1000 but there was no way i was going to sign up for the rest... I dont like when I fell preasured... I decided to use their tool which was included in the 1000 for 6 months. If i got any results out of it then i was thinking of taking the others... In that class there are alot of desparate people wanting financial freedom and investools classes are all about psycology!! They have good basics and they explain a bit about options and technicals which is good. but if you know nothing about the stock market like the dude sitting next to me which dessparatly signed up for the Associates... then i dont think its for you. I am a beginner but have leared the past 6 months through books and the hard way by investing.. Was doing pretty good up about 32k but Greed over took me and did not know when to get out... never paid much attention to the technicals but relied more on news... I did take away knowledge about technicals (really basic) and how to use their great TOOLS and apply it to my already obtained knowledge. My Opinion is that I would first do a Masters Degree in Finance which is intense!!! for the same exact price as Investools PHD. JR
I know someone who has spent 40,000 on invest tools crap so far and has barely done any trading. I don't know too much about them, but if you stay up late enough you'll see real estate commercials with the same pitch.
Why in the world would anyone invest that much money and NOT use it? Seems to me that your friend was looking for a get-rich-quick scheme. Investing takes a lot of time and effort, even if you use tools to make the analysis easier. For the record, I am not an Investools customer or associated with them in any way. I stumbled across their ad on TV and thought I'd check out what folks on the internet had to say. I probably won't invest the $3,000 to take the training since I do quite well with the system I've developed over the last 20 years. Personally, I've never really understood why people would sell any system, whether it's how to make money in real estate, break the bank in Las Vegas, or how to get the most beautiful woman on Earth ... especially if the system works. I'd more than likely keep it to myself and continue to build my personal mound of money, rather than increase the number of potential competitors. Now, before some of you go off the deep end, college educations are NOT in the same category as these "professional development" courses. I have a college degree because the people who controlled the job market when I was young demanded one. The short answer is this - use your brain! Be wary of strangers claiming altruistic intentions, like helping YOU become rich, especially where money is concerned.
they didn't walk away, and they've done some trading. i got the impression though, that it's been very little. my advice was either get in the game or get the hell out!
