atticus, could you be so kind as to advise the link to the website you are referencing... Thank you kindly...
About a month ago, I paid half that: $1K for the 2-day stocks course plus 6 months of web site access. After 6 months, it'll be $50 a month for the website. See if you can get that price - better yet, get somebody to share it with you.
There is no doubt in my mind this website is an excellent source of information. I have learned more here going through the archived threads than I have in the numerous books on my bookshelf. I was just curious if he was referring to a consolidated research site. I have found several good sites to conduct fundamental research, and of course charting software like quotetracker, Sierra etc... for some technical analysis, but it would be nice to be able to organize all the tools at one place that you could link back and forth from one set of watchlists or portfolios... Thank you for attempting to answer my inquiry... blue skies and happy trading.....
I just attended the "free" seminar yesterday, and signed up for the 2-day stocks class next weekend. I have zero experience in stocks. (My price was $999 with 6 months free web site use, so apparently the price is going down.) jlewisnc, I just wanted to thank you for the advice on how to start up. Everyone else who has commented, thank you also. There is no way I can afford to pay for the "advanced" courses offered by Investools. I plan to start very small, paper (practice) trading first, and to read the books several of you recommended. For the person who said enough of this thread, I just want to express my gratitude to those of you who have posted. This thread offers wonderful ideas, cautions, and advice. I will now be much more wary next weekend. I searched bbb.org and did not find anything negative about the company, so this site filled in the blanks. I will keep my ears open for some of the tricks mentioned. It does seem to me, though, that it depends on the instructor - some seem more ethical than others, which is to be expected, I guess. Wish me luck!
Hi All, I'm completely new to online trading (have not started yet though but am interested in day-trading stocks for now) and I'm reading up some things (I'm currently reading "Trading for a Living -Alexaner Elder) and I'll order more books. However, I must confess that there's a lot of information and a lot of online tradig terminologies (futures, commodities, symbols, options, back-filling, etc.) that I'd appreciate it if I could get some directions (websites, etc.) and/or explanations on them. 1. What do I need to have a complete online trading setup? I recently downloaded ensign and am using their playback system to paper trade. 2. What are the best and affordable (pricier doesn't necessarily mean better) frontend softwares, charting softwares and data feeds. 3. Are ensign and Button Trader charting softwares??? 4. What are the best combinations of softwares??? etc. Thanks.
Try to cancel if you can!!!! Research the previous postings on this website for Investools. You will learn that their course is extremely overpriced. I reviewed the DVD's and course manuals. The course will define the terms that your are referring to, however, the course will never teach you how to apply the limited knowledge you will receive. (the same can be found in books from Amazon for an approximate investment of $200.00). If you feel you must attend their course, you may consider purchasing a "used" set of course materials from E-bay for approximately $500.00, after viewing a few of the DVD's you will realize the limited quality of education you may receive. This is an excellent forum, and if you spend the time searching old threads you will be able to build a decent reading list. There are a lot of intelligent and sincere people on this site who are willing to give advice to those who have done their research and formulated intelligent questions. But no one will take you by the hand and tell you what to do step by step...You must show that you have taken the effort to advance your education as far as you could on your own... Good Luck to you
The majority of the people in the world will try to get as much money from you as they can. Whether they're salesman, lawyers, car mechanics, or plumbers. However, these trading courses go beyond that. They're outright frauds. If they really did what they advertise, they would be able to provide audited trading statements that show their system works. I bet none of them would be willing to do this.
I have been an Investools student for about two months and paid the same price you did. I love the tools. I'd still be in my losing stocks and mutual funds if it weren't for their tools that showed me to SELL. The prophet chart searches alone are worth the money. You can see a demo of a prophet chart search at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABVtzJ9zpFk I like the online course and the fact that I can go back to it over and over and make a checklist of trading rules from it. I didn't like the in-person class as much - the trainer acted more like a commission salesman than a teacher 50% of the time. Before spending $1K I asked members of the Orange County CA Investools Investors Club (not associated with Investools except as students) and they said it was worth they paid, and many of them were Ph.D. students. There are people on Elite Trader who publicly ATTACK anyone who says anything positive about Investools, so be aware that only the brave (or newbies here) will speak out in favor of it. I recommend that you ask at an Investools-method Investor club in your area.
