Inverted Market

  1. I've started trading recently and I'm learning how the markets work. One thing I don't understand is how the BID can ever be equal to the ASK or be higher than the ASK...I mean wouldn't that mean there are people willing to buy the stock at a higher price than people are willing to sell it, and wouldn't all of those trades be executed instantaneously???

Also can someone tell me if there is any way to trade this type of a market? Thanks.

  2. Those are locked or crossed markets ... and no, you can't profit from it.
