I too trade leveraged ETF pairs, right re volatility. Main lesson learned is focus on those with biggest gaps outside prior day's range, eg GDX/DUST LABD/LABU today. Other ok pairs UVXY/SVXY BOIL/KOLD TZA/TNA I like SOXL but SOXS isn't a good one, similarly TQQQ was great, but until recent revsplit SQQQ was too narrow range. Interesting re indicators, I mainly use position sizing. I put buy stop orders above each in the pair, then scale in to the winner
What about the soxs instrument itself isn't good, aside from any upward or downward bias a trader may have.
%% SOXS has been a long term downtrender\LOL, but SOXL, TQQQ has had some real good uptrends. These tend to be wilder up or down than SPXL,upro, spxs,spxu..................................................
Is there something inherent to the soxs product itself that causes it to be classified as "not a good one" vs soxl or does that label pertain to the way it moved during a particular duration?
%% Good charts; soxl going down again\ it usually does\ i think i finally threw away my weekly soxl charts even though bears may want to short it\good long term downtrend
Good point. Had to put SOXL on that stockcharts list, lol. Rude red scored a nice hit on that one. https://stockcharts.com/freecharts/candleglance.html?SARK,SCO,KOLD,VXX,SOXS,SOXL,SRTY|B|0
%% OK; but really ''rude red??''I"VE never seen any downtrend that patterned like a '''falling knife''\even though i've used that innaccurate term myself .AT least a falling safe has a better word pic, still not as descriptive like downtrend, or uptrend bull market.
Ima buy alot of UVXY SQQQ SARK TZA if they trend up after 10am. Am in overnight holds yay But will sell if gaps start to fill premkt
