    That's what she said.

They could take it to 950 and drop it or bust through it and have a good rally. Now the only question is, are the 949s and below shorts that strong to defend it? Don't know how big the accumulated shorts are compared to other ones. What you think AMT, where do these shorts stack up in your experience?

  3. "She" is Jackie? Has she ironed your clothes yet?

We're at 942.50 ( ~9:00PM EST) I still see a 30K inventory in CD (from 48K), so some of that diff is shorts taking profit (perhaps?) and maybe some longs who entered at 922 area . . . 18K to be accounted for . . . though I'm not sure what reason bulls would have to come in at that zone, so we suspect that mostly shorts were liquidating ITM positions EOD yesterday . . .

It's a bit of a paradox (for me at least, I'm sure it's crystal clear in AMT's mind at this very moment) . . . If the bulk of that diff is shorts liquidating, they've built up a lot of ammo, and conversely the shorts are just a smidgen at the 922 area. . . on the other hand, if most of that diff is longs, then there'd be a [big] battle at the 922 area . . . at least if it happens before the news release tomorrow . . .

If we move up to the "zone" we'd see how many remain holding, or if we move down to 922 area, we'd know the open hands, REAL TIME as AMT would say it . . .

I'm just learning . . . AMT is the undisputed authority . . . he's correctly shot down many of my supposed insights on this thread . . . so this is just like the kid practising walking in the Dad's shoes . . . and stumbling often . . . :)

  5. We still have the whole AH/EU session to trade through, but there is the possibility of the news reaction tomorrow creating a new higher high which would then get faded. Funds buying equities have pressed the market right up under the very large held short inventory in futures (have seen this several times before). If the news spooks/disappoints the market, then we should get immediate selling for a run down to at least test the 925's-922's during tomorrows session.

Tomorrows news release brings on the perfect catalyst for some exceptional price action......the good thing about the potential reaction from the news release is, to get one side "more committed" than the other side. This should cause price some new direction after such a slow day today (only had 3 very slow scalp intraday type trades today......heck, AH session last night was better.....LOL).

Remember now, by 08:29 EST you better be sitting in your backyard with your laptop and your best lawn chair.......be very ready to HANG ON and click fast!

  8. "only had 3 very slow scalp intraday type trades today"

    AMT,
Any chance you can identify those scalps for me. I got burnt on my only trade today (a short from 936). It would help me a lot to see what I should have been trading. Thanks!!
