15? I feel young but not that young. Funny enough I was close to being a monk, and that order allowed you to be married.
"She's" can kinda get married now, I think? Sorry I haven't really been keeping up to date with that one. No it would be illegal for simpler reasons.
Jack has ET's copy feature down to a tee now Oops he's gone again. He's like one of those genie thingamajigs.
Thanks for your effort to help me understand your comments. The technical reasons for the situation you describe are well known. These reasons do provide the why. You are correct that they have to be part of system solutions for making money trading. For me, I can use regression to build a trading system. I reviewed my past efforts and their money velocity. I used MLR on position trading. To turn 10K into 1,000K in a year (240 days of trading), for me, using regression, it would be a close call. I'll forfeit immediately. I think I understand that you feel doing an experiment of a given design could prove how different systems compare. You are correct that different systems used by "like" people would be a consistent way to show performance. I used to be in the ore recover business. I had to invent a way to take bullshit out of sales and marketing. What I invented was taking a pile of ore and dividing it into two piles. Each side would refine the ore and give the left overs to the other side. Then the left overs would be refined and the amount of new precious metal extraced would be compared. This cut the bullshit and accusations way back. Why don't each of us take a few of marketsurfer's investors and see who can make them more money. Lets start with enough capital to beat some of the guys on the Forbes list. How do I keep my amateur standing? At the end of this testing your way, will whoever learns be able to keep their skills or do they just have us trade their million dollars and they just have free time for the rest of their lives. Should I cancel the record I planned to create on ET? I never did get the input on how to report commodities trading in a journal. Again sorry about my screw ups.
I can only speak for my student - I can't take back what I taught them (unless you have a secret you haven't told us yet) so they can keep their skills. I sure won't be trading their funds so they won't have free time while I do all the work - but a good student of the market would never want it any other way. You may be up for giving your student the life of Reilly, that's very admirable. Be warned they might turn reprobate with too much time and money on their hands. As for surf giving us clients, are you smoking dope again? Medical purposes of course. Now re. your record on ET, it's nice of you to ask but it's not my call. . On the screw up - I do it every day. I blame the keyboard - they put the keys too close on the standard full size one.
I was reflecting on mentoring. My preference is that a student build his mind. Recently, I am finding it is difficult for students to do that kind of work. Trading is like baking brownies and handing out the instructions allows just anyone to bake brownies. There is no mind building all the learner does is just trade to make money. The marketsurfer deal could have been dumbed down to surf setting up two accounts with just a finder's fee in each. Then we each trade an account for a year and he gets 1,000 commissions from each account or we ask him to give it away to some extent. I thought it would be amusing for his investors since they would "talk" to others and have an expereince no one else is giving them.. I agree, the passing of money from one generation to another is a good example of what happens. I had some uncles that thought I was screwing off spending money the way I did. I had an attitude of "why wait, its in the bank?". As a recond, I think I will just pile up facts and others can figure out what the facts mean. Money just doesn't arrive out of thin air and the market itself is reviewable.
Just wanted to mention, if you can do research with less info, there are commercial EEG brain wave readers available for $100 - $300 or so. They are able to provide readings of alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and theta waves. With a bit of coding, you could write your own apps to record the readings and store the data in a db or somewhere. The one I have (NeuroSky MindWave) takes a reading I think around 1 per second. It won't give you a picture or show activity in specific regions like the fMRI, but might be an affordable tool to get some preliminary research going.
Let me rephrase that, I suppose there is research going already, perhaps better to say 'to do more research', sorry about the poor wording.
this is starting to remind me of stewart brand and the whole earth catalog of the early 1970's. Flower Power, psychedelics etc one warning, be leary of timothy! surf
