K, smallcapgrowth, ye who have earned millions on the blackjack tables but...

    -----------------
...I was a financial advisor dealing with retail clients for about 5 years. In that process I watched a documentary on card counting in blackjack...

...I have about 1.2 million left after taxes and buying some shit. I know it is retarted to just deposit that in a trading account and start. I want to do what I did with blackjack to learn trading. Read everything I can and I felt the passion burn in my belly. I am starting to feel that again with trading. I wont accept failure as an option cause there is no way im going back to working for a boss. I know I need to find an edge and then make Kelly bets accordingly. Im reading threw all the stuff and will read every thread on this forum as I am in fulltime study mode.

    -----------------

I'm going to throw you a bone Mr. Blackjack.

Do you want the red pill or the blue pill? Well, I will give you the red pill of trading.

Yeah. True. But there are success stories out there too.
He should get the benefit of the doubt for now.
What's the worse that can happen?
He bumps Surf out of the "Thread of the Week"?

This, my friend, is real life. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/and-they-have-a-plan-live.306838/

I have not posted an update since March 7th, because I have not done enough trading to warrant it. I made a couple of trades since then, and am back to ~7,000 profit with a couple of losses. Why have I not traded much since my great run before then? It is because I knew when to sit by the sidelines, because I learned when I was not going to be able to trade properly. And it has been, for me, almost 7 weeks now to trade full-time.

You see, this is the sort of shit that real traders go through in their mind, along with the thousand other things.

We are not gamblers. We are not playing odds against a house. This is not a fixed-odds system. So you can take all your blackjack gambling bullshit, keep using it to make the millions you claim, and stop polluting this community. Because people here are TIRED of millionaires coming in here and claiming that they want to learn how to trade.

After all...If you became a millionaire while gambling, why are you giving it up? Why change what is working? Yeah? And if you are already a millionaire through gambling, why not just retire? WTF?

He's been banned at the Casino's. I'd imagine thats why.
And who can retire on $1MM at age 32?

Blackjack is gambling, but one can certainly argue when professional card counters are introduced to the equation, it actually becomes a game of skill.
    That's exactly why casino's ban CC's.
Not much different than trading really.
If trading weren't gambling... no one would ever lose.
    Right?
But this is an age old debate that no side ever wins.
It is gambling, its not gambling ....blah blah blah.
    Who cares.

For starters, not everyone in this game does it for the money. I have said it and will say it again that I would do this job even if I was not paid at all. It's my passion and motivation to solve puzzles.

You sound very desperate for money and as if you would do almost anything for that additional buck in your pocket.

Can I ask why your culture keeps on inventing/playing games that nobody else in the world gives a shite about and refuses to play games everyone else plays?

Bridge, Racketball, then some obscure chess variants, American football (the most gay of any sports)....

On your note how card game theory proves beneficial to success in trading... I guess it's simply fast brains, a keen understanding of probabilities. Not much more to it imho. How would otherwise poker theory intersect with trading if not simply the application of measure theory and probabilities

Zzzz? I am very surprised at this response. If I was desperate for money I would not have posted a link to my buried journal which shows I have not traded much for the past 3 weeks? Not everyone in this game does it for the money? Well, what do they do it for??!

Umm, this is now all confusion. I am taken aback.

I read the post, I am still confused. But I am going to stick my sword in the sand and claim to you, and anyone else, that if you do not like the LIVE FUCKING results in that link, and the HONESTY of it, then everyone can bugger off, mates! That is a very important point here.

Zzzz, I am not twisting anyone's nuts here. It's REAL shit. It is NOT fake. I am trying to convey that I find anyone who claims X, Y, Z as being a money maker without the PROOF of it is just a load of crap. Is what I am doing THAT BAD that I should simply stop, and let the community dissolve into it's own acidic juices of falsity?

Zzz1, I am trying to HELP the community here! Dude, I am on your side! Why are you attacking me?!?
