30 trades a week. basically an average of 6 trades a day. So a scalper someone trading the lower time frames. 4XProp may i ask would you ever consider a swing trader. Someone who could get 10-20% a month monthly with lower than 10% peak to peak drawdown. (no more than 10% of the account risked at a time) (No more than 1-3% risked per trade) Monitoring about 15 currency pairs averaging 1-2 trades a month per pair. - Over 70% winning ratio - 21.66 Avg hold time (Positions monitored hourly) (normally profitable right from the beginning but goes through a series of profit targets) - 3.76 Profit Factor - >2 Sharpe Ratio (meaning monthly return standard deviation is about the same) - Calmar Ratio of 6.38 - No losing months Would you take a FX swing trader with this skill level that can be shown in your evaluation period. I trade FXCM and can allocate an account for the trial period. Nothing changes but the backend paperwork, front end and qoutes stay the same so it would be just like me trading normally but with the ability to add an extra $100,000 to $1,000,000 under management after proving my skill level and being considered.
Nearly four months since 4xprop first posted and still no word? Could it be either of these: 1) Nobody has made the cut? 2) Nobody took the bait (that is, it's a marketing ploy by FXCM) in the first place? Other theories? Let's hear them....
30 trades a week is overtrading in my opinion. Unless FXCM and your firm has a really good spread agreement, all traders will eventually get their capital drain by the spread. SO, this 4xPROP, smells like a poly promo for FXCM's service. If you are a legit prop firm, you shouldnt limit the number of trades one have to make in a week. Instead, you can mandate that "a trader has to do 300 trades in the program with desirable monthly return and draw down" in order to evaluate the overall performance.
Is 4Xprop still a sponsor here ? If so, are other more reputable brokers offered besides FX(s)C(a)M ? Can I choose my own broker to demonstrate my trading ? ( you would be able to follow live through a second login)
We are still a sponsor here and accepting traders through FXCM. We are in the process of trying to add an additional broker or two. These have been some exciting times in the FX market and have been concentrating on our existing traders as well as fhiring additional ones.
I, for one, am awaiting the announcement of alternative brokers we could trade with to qualify as remote traders for 4xprop. Have you given a thought to working with GoMarkets? I currently use them and I could say I am quite satisfied with the tight spreads and high leverage they provide.
4xprop, I'm sure you're aware of the $2m fine imposed by the NFA on FXCM just last week. I hope this hastens up your search for other, better, brokers to partner with for prop trading.
