  1. Phillip Nel at the Forex Factory has written about his '4 Hour Strategy (MACD)'
trading system since Jan 2007, the thread has run to 1,649 pages and has over
8,000 attachments, the first page indexes all the relevant stuff:
    http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=14630
Nel also has a '5Min Intraday System' - MACD:
    http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=11854
and a new system '4Hour MACD Trading Journal' ~ "based on the EurUsd 12:00
    and 16:00 candle closure":

don't be put off by forex, the same indicators are used on any instrument

my trading system doesn't depend on indicators but I do have the Guppy MACD
on all my MT4/NT charts to lift the price off the bottom of the page
I've never traded any signalling system - most are based on indicators, there are
thousands of them, most variations of a theme - macd - but I have to admit to enjoying
seeing green and red arrows on the chart and I've attached an NT 5min chart of
the 6E Euro FX with the HiLoActivator set to Length 7 attached, the gmacd and
    a SMA 1 C to indicate the Close. minimum pip/tick is $12.50
the HiLo is also known by such names as Gann HiLo or StopLoss and etc
signal arrows may go on/off and many such indicators 'repaint'; the option with
NT is to 'Calculate on bar close: true/false'
the second chart is 5min MT4 eurusd with a macd signals: dots signals are based
    on 4 7 11 setting and arrows based on 9 12 26, gmacd attached

Very interesting, indeed imho. Unfortunately I could not manage to get access to CJA's thread/postings.
I would love to give the G#MACD" a try by trying to translate tte formular into TradeStation or TradeSignal language.
Via PM would be appreciated as well.

    Thanks for taking your time.

  4. Goalgetter, CJA is/was on Forex-TSD and/or the Forex Factory but last time I
saw anything about him he was going professional for coding, you can access
the Forex Factory without registration, view images and access downloads but
    Forex-TSD requires registration

one use of the Guppy macd is on the chart, a variation I think of the Rainbow:

there are TradeStation indicators here, just add the extra MAs:

  5. Intraday data is too fast to be using lagging tools, by the time your indicators tell you something the move is probably over or the risk is too big for the reward.

Unbelievable wealth of inforamtion you have. Thanks for sharing it.
I must admit I failed to to find that page with the TradeStaion version of the G#MACD indicator however, I managed to drop a line to GAV (hoping for a reply obviously). :)

I use prices and indicators to open positions, but use price only for close decisions.
