Morning all! Congratulate all Americans with the holiday! Guess this fact will influence this mkt and make it a bit slow, but I'll take a look at European session from time to time today.
Morning CF That's what makes the asian session so dull.. aaaiii... . Tried to drop you and CV a mighty PM yesterdat, but couldn't sent it at the end, clicked back, and it disappear :eek: :eek: :eek: CV find that a certain SIF a pain in the ass (me too), coz a certain session might be totally different from the main trend let's say on 30min TF, and the whole session is strong and might even blow past 30min TF's TLs. (yesterday morning) blow pass recent agressive TL, retracement to the morning upward TL, and still rise till lunch close) For the last few days, after all the rest and inner peace I tired to achieve (very Zen ), I found that, if you look at each session independently, and look for continous signals within a session, you automatically position yourself in front of quality trades, and if the direction of the session agrees with the 30min TF PA, the moves are much larger. A trader would still need to know the PA in relation to the 30min TF, but the "session direction" is more important. Avoiding picking top or bottoms with aggressive TLs during the middle of a session, this actually don't work well in SIFs as in FX, low win% and low R/R. Also even if the direction changed within a session, a continous signal of the earlier trend usually means you would enter at the first major retracement after the trend change, the move should be enough to net a small profit (if you realise the direction had changed), or get yourself B/E (check wednesday's morning HSI). I just can't seem to make them work. I promised myself I wouldn't trade them again no matter what, but found myself again looking at charts of them last night .... They are a kind of curse to me, it's a challenge I can't seem to resist but that's stronger than me and really detrimental to my account so first going to stop trading them for a long time and doing what I seem to be doing well: trading fx. Maybe later (much later) I will give them another try, although I have really no idea how to handle them, I just seem to suck at them lately. At this moment the best thing for my account and for my sanity is to leave them alone and forget about them in the meantime ...
cvds, Don't worry, waiting for a wife to come back from supermarket with some delicious food and wine... And waiting for friends to come and party a bit... So holiday is gonna be here... As for your trading I am really thinking all the time how to optimize it, but don't have a clear idea yet... Just one more: maybe add some larger TF trading so that you would be able to trade checking the mkt once an hour or so?
thanks for your thoughts CF, but feel like the best way to go for me in the near future is sticking to FX (my account would have been much bigger if I had done just that), trading from for 4 pm till 8:30 pm CET is not perfect but is turning out allright. On normal evenings I manage to make decent money, if it really moves like yesterday I can cleanup. I want to make this account grow the next two coming months and probably going to work parttime at my dayjob from end september on. Maybe I might go fulltime by the end of the year but as you know there is not only the monetary aspect of trading I have to take care off but trying to keep my life in balance. Anyway, have a drink on me (Belgian beers are quite good ) and enjoy your holiday, from the current action it seems like you won't be missing much.
Thanks cv, you too have fun today! As for trading - alright! 4+ hours a day is indeed not as bad and US news often can be a cause of not bad moves.... So good luck you in realizing this plan and let it work out as good as it can!
