Hey CF or YH I'm looking for a little advice. My broker suck, I'm not naming names, who do you guys use? Is it possible to find a forex broker who doesn't take the alternative side of your trade. That kills me, how can they look out for me if they lose when I win.

IB is great, CF uses that one too (I believe he also uses Oanda) I even believe, if I remember correctly that YH is positive about this one too ...

Yoohoo told me Oanda seems ok to use.... Doesnt IB have a $ 10,000 start level? I didnt have that much to invest. so I went with Oanda.
So far they seem ok. it took a few weeks to get thru the Identity confirmation/account funding process but once up and running,it seems ok so far.

I don't have 10k to open with IB or I would. I definately like there rates but I'll have to wait until I have that kind of capital. I'm still just in college. What do you think of FXCM. I got there demo platform or whatever and I really like the charts and the platform in general. Are they a decent firm or are they a stop hunting bs firm?

If I didn't have the money to open an account with IB I would have opened one with oanda because of the low spreads. But switch to IB if you have more money.

almost 90% if not more say stay far away from FXCM there are way better brokers and charting software as well. I too would go with Oanda, there charting sucks but i use Metatrader for charting works fine for me. ( FXCM just started using MT4 but its still FXCM so i still wouldn't go with them)

I also agree if you have the capital to go with Interactive Brokers ($10k) its the best option because the have like $445k+ Net cap and deal on exchange so with the new regulations coming from the farm bill & more CFTC power to make who knows what regulations, i think IB can handle any regulation thrown at them, still followed by Oanda with no min to open.

Well I signed up for the Oanda practice account. The platform is not much to be desired but its hard to beat .9 spread. That charts are quite dismal but I can make due for a little while till I can upgrade to a better charting package. I just wish their platform was more "nifty" I liked being able to trade off the charts and stuff like that.

  8. I posted total results for April (Bob (1Reason) asked for it), for May didn't do that yet...

Actually I didn't have any exact profit goals, wanted to just trade consistently and that is my goal. :)

As for drawdowns I didn't keep an eye of exact figures, but there was not big ones... Usually trades are within the logical context of the market and it makes winrate pretty high...

  9. As for brokers, yes I use IB and Oanda. Oanda spread is cheaper (except around news), but IB platform is more sophisticated of course...

  10. I want to say that I'm going to probably refrain from intensive posting here during the next week, because I want to have a full focus on the market using 1min timeframe... Will try to tell how it goes in the end of each day....

Wish all you guys good luck during the next week and all Summer!
