Interview Questions - Chicago

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by Chris Paciello, Jan 5, 2012.

  1. Can someone help me out with what are the typical questions asked for a trading opportunity in Chicago? Either as a Trader or Trainee. What type of math, etc questions and best way to prepare for it?

Any experience and if anyone can recommend a good firm in the Chicago area.

    Pm me if needed.

    Thank you

You're gonna get math questions that will test your ability to do math in your head like off the wall questions like, "What is the surface area of the John Hancock," which was one of the questions I got. They aren't particularly interested in the final answer -- they're interested in how you arrive at the final answer. Don't throw out a number. Talk through your logic about HOW you're getting to that number. All questions like this will be a test of your ability to think and think quick. Don't take 5 min's with a question like this. Talk through the logic fast and give and answer -- fast! If your logic is sound and your answer isn't even in the right ball field it doesn't matter. Critical thinking skills is what they want.
