Internet Access in Russia/Ukraine

  1. Well, Ukraine in terms of Internet infrastructure is somewhere where Western Europe was perhaps 5 to 10 years ago. But they will catch up. Eventually.

Ukrtelekom is in the process of upgrading their systems everywhere, so you could get a condo in Kyiv that already has digital lines. That's mostly near the city center. If you hunt for an apartment you just have to ask. I got my apartment here specifically because it had cheap cable Internet, since the phone line is of no use. :) I live around 20 minutes from the center. That's by subway! :)

By the way: here's a blog that collects news on Ukraine. If you want to get an impression of where Ukraine stands today, it might be worth looking at. It's done by an American expat living in Kyiv.
