Good gosh, I'm the same as Ricter.

Several of those questions aren't very good imo. For example, "burdening government regulation". Is a burden simply a load, or is it "too much"?

I'm beginning to think that the survey scoring is biased so that nearly everyone is placed in the "middle" unless you answer every question in a manner that makes you either very much to the left or right.

I think that one we did last year, that plotted social and fiscal attitudes on separate axes, was the better one.

I agree. Everything is a question of degree. What is "excessive" to one person will be different to another. It is all terminology.

Which gets back to that most surveys are designed to prove the point the surveying organization already has established.

I got this, despite being pro-choice, pro gay marriage, etc.

    What a joke :)

Did you indicate you went to church on Sunday? Ran the test a few times and "yes" put me "right" and prefer not to answer put me in the middle.

    No bias there!

Most of them probably are. I've taken a bunch of these over the years and scored every where from center right libertarian to fascist.
