Yes, selling my company to one of the big boys market-maker is the end game. However, I'm not there yet. It needs to be in production for a few years and establish a solid track record before I can even approach them.
https://xkcd.com/1570/ The market making functions you describe have already been coded into every market making shop out there for years. Aside from adding the catch phrase "AI" to it I'm not sure you're offering anything that everyone doesn't have their own proprietary setup for already, probably with FPGA coded solutions. And their own solution has already been forward tested with actual orders and actual data at scale, and as you know you're always more comfortable tinkering with that than implementing a brand new solution you haven't worked with from someone you don't know. It's not necessarily that you don't have anything, but you're not selling it well...just throwing out the term AI along with stuff that already exists isn't going to impress your target audience. If you've worked at an i-bank you're far better off tapping your existing network, no-one here with the requisite contacts is going to introduce you to their network based on what you've provided here, and as you've seen those without the requisite contacts aren't going to provide you a whole lot of value.
market making algo is the simple part, the hard part is beating all the other faster participants for the fills
Sorry but this post completely disqualified you. Total bullshit. You are saying you have 20+ years programming experience but then re-invent the wheel regarding ai? A total lie. Nobody does that and it makes zero sense and completely disqualifies your claimed expertise. On my ignore list you go...adios my dear liar friend, I can't stand bullshitters.
What's up with this forum? Why so much hate? What's wrong with people on here? Anyone can explain that? I'm on Twitter and getting only positive feedback from people regarding what I do.
As I mentioned before, if you've got a network in the finance world already who you know personally and who are familiar with you and your work then you should be tapping them. If you don't, then it's very possible the folks on Twitter giving you feedback don't really know WTF they're talking about in this context and their feedback is therefore less relevant and useful? I'm an electrical engineering undergrad, and it's sad for me to see time and time again technical folks fail because they fail to grasp that you need to take time to build a network and build relationships in order to succeed. Having the best code and algorithms actually isn't even a necessary requirement for success, and it's almost never sufficient. It takes time and effort to build networks and relationships, so those of us who have care for them pretty carefully. That means that someone who shows up and participates in a half dozen threads over a year, pretty much all of which involve pushing their algo, isn't going to be high on my list of folks I'm willing to introduce to my network, and it will be the same for anyone with the network you're looking for. I am happy to point out the things you would need to do in order to succeed and point out what your pitch looks like to the folks you're trying to appeal to. If you'd rather not hear that it's your call, but given your apparent lack of success finding partners/backers up to now you'd think you'd want to start reassessing what you're doing rather than just seeking positive affirmation, no? If you see someone taking their time to provide that feedback to you as "hate" then I'm sorry to break it to you but you've got a looooong road ahead of you!
Thanks Sig, I see your point, you may right except of one thing. You're saying I'm "pushing my algo". My algo is not for sale, I have never pushed my algo onto anyone and don't plan to. I am simply here to meet like-minded people which there are none. Only people I see here are people who make quick 10-second judgment about my work that took years of solid effort. I welcome criticism. But if someone tells me: yeah I tried AI and it doesn't work, you're full of BS, that's just very closed-minded. I feel like I have to constantly defend myself, so I'm done with this forum. I'd like to delete all my posts, so I contacted the admin, and they say it's not possible, lol, oh well
Perhaps a poor word choice on my part, I was trying to point out that you spent little time engaging in conversations about anything but your project or helping out folks with questions or even getting into innane pointless conversations....in short you didn't do what it takes to be considered part of the community but appear to expect you be treated like a member of the community. Again I'm not judging you, as I pointed out I'm an EE and for some of us that's learned behavior. I'm just letting you know how you're coming across to the neurotypical community which I think might be a bit of a surprise to you and I hope learning that will help you going forward.
