InteractiveBrokers, Oh My!

  1. CSSCOTT, your experiences are surely in the very lsmall minority and likely due to your own computer or local servers. As a long time IB customer, the reliability is superb.

kiwi, the only illusions here are your vivid imagination. All of your assumptions about me are dead wrong. You are some piece of work, and I'll waste no more time on you in this thread. It would really be great if you would troll elsewhere.

  4. LOL cscott ... as someone who's entire posting (except the first which was perhaps the dumbest thread ever started on ET) is dedicated to a stupid attack on IB ... perhaps you will troll elsewhere?

    Just as a reminder:

Only one person is twisting anything here .... and it started with the first post and your title for the thread.
You don't understand the problem and despite peoples attempts to help you, you still havent got there.
Perhaps you are just another broker's shill? In that case you never were going to work it through with them ... its all just noise and illusion. So onto the next stage. Go on, leave IB, make my day

Now, fool, just troll off quietly and hide in your dark little hole. You really are a waste of internet bandwidth. :)

  5. quite often I have to click the transmit 'button' several times before the TWS acknowledges that my order is on the system (always market orders) and this has the effect of making my trading more 'hyper' than it needs to be.I'm considering switching brokers because of it.(I always have the TWS as the 'top' window when I'm preparing to trade).

  7. Oh, I'm sorry. I thought Judy Garland had found the Interactivebrokers
website and was thrilled with their platform, fees, markets, ect...:p

  8. Hello,

I have Optimum Online cable connection. I checked my ping time here http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/pinger.asp. My average ping time was between 48-91.

Recently Optimum Online came out with an upgrade called Optimum Online Boost. It offers lightning-fast speed up to 30Mbps. Would it decrease my ping time If I signed up for it? If yes would the difference be significant regarding execution speed with IB.

    Thanks,

  9. comcast sucks - it's a shared connection with your neighbors and they proxy their requests.

Sub-90ms is basically instantaneous unless you are doing some pretty specialized automated trading.
