Interactive Brokers

  1. Back to the poster's original question, I filled out an evaluation of IB several months ago. Nothing has really changed. I am very satisfied with them but support remains slow. Don't be in a big hurry to upgrade. I had to live with a bug for a couple of weeks until it was fixed in a later release. I probably picked up a new bug again that I haven't found. But all in all, they deliver as promised. Rock bottom prices and excellent (maket that outstanding) executions. Note - I mostly trade NYSE issues.

I also don't like the 10 business day delay in check clearing. But the lost interest is minimal and by protecting themselves in many ways (e.g. check clearing, automatic liquidation of positions), they are able to pass it on to their customers through lower costs. Also, they don't charge anything for an outgoing wire.
