The US reset is about around 17:30 Easter Time so it will most likely have less of an impact. If you mostly trade Asian markets and are closer to HK you would be better off on the Asian server. W/o knowing your location, I couldn't say. Note: for more info on this, send me a PM or better yet, start a chat with a CS rep or send a ticket. thx
You should probably use the stand-alone version and not update it until you absolutely have to in order to avoid being a guinea pig.
Here is a bug that hasn't been fixed for quite a time, despite reporting to IB: Try this: 1. Assign a hotkey (like Ctrl-B) to the feature "Attach Bracket Orders". If you try it now, it works fine. 2. But then, use a feature which reloads/regroups the TWS windows, like loading another workspace layout, or "File > Open Settings File" or "View > OS Window_Bar" 3. After that, try the hotkey again. Now the pressing the hotkey results in generating TWO attached bracket orders instead of one. It doesn't even stop at that. Every time you use a feature which reloads/regroups the TWS windows, subsequent use of Ctrl-B (like in my example) results in an additional bracket order. So, if you switch between 5 times between different workspaces, you will end up with 6 attached bracket orders if you use Ctrl-B after that. This odd behavior stops once TWS is closed and restarted.
Sierrachart programmers say that they don't now and never intend to support IB's capability to handle OCO orders at the broker level because IB's API is flakey.. but I did notice that, depending on the release of Sierrachart's software that sometimes OCO's were indeed supported but not recently.. so I use SC's very nice Chart Trader but I have to go to TWS and place a stop and fix it up with an OCO identity and all that.. and while I'm doing that my account is at great risk if I lose connectivity due to something disastrous that affects the markets.. This is really starting to annoy me.. I could trade only short since most disasters cause prices to fall, I could have a deep OTM option in place all the time to protect the account... I certainly can't take advantage of the computer's best efforts.. What are the chances anything is going to change though? Nothing much has changed in what, a decade? This stuff is really starting to annoy me, enough to change brokers but I can't recall which the other one was that supports server side OCO brackets...
New Bug: The market depth view doesn't always get the colors right. If the market is 10 x 11, sometimes the 10 side will be half-colored in so some ECNs will be colored in blue and some will be colored in purple, giving the illusion that there is more liquidity available on one side than the other. I've seen it more on the bid side than the offer side, but this observation might just be due to chance.
