Def, you know that i'm big complainer ,but i can't have the all facts..the only fact's i know is what happens on my side.. i don't know what is going on on IB's side.. but i usually complain for a reason(see picture above)..and i think it's good, because many times those issues actually been fixed, after i point on them. Dav can confirm that, cause i report them to him directly for years.. and you right about another thing-i may not like many things\bugs\issues\the way things works in TWS,but there is no alternative to IB and we both know that. this is why after all screaming and yelling i still with IB for all those years..and i agree that IB execution(if you buy @ ask) is superior to other brokers.
Why not? With over 25 years experience on the tech, trading and brokerage sides (all with IB and TH), as well as someone who regularly deals directly with top level management at a number of the Asian and US exchanges, I think I can talk with some authority. As to my post, many will surely disagree with my response but it is tiresome to read complaints saying we "don't are about this" or "XXX is a joke" etc etc when they fail to point out that we are the best on the street at doing what they are complaining about in the first place. Things need to be put into a proper perspective. Behind me I see a team of people working tirelessly to put out a great product. In any event, given my position perhaps I should be diplomatic all the time. Unfortunately I'm human and my patience wears thin - especially when I believe public statements made on forums have no merit.
Your bedside manner is a little rough. There are many legitimate complaints about IB. Software is routinely shoved out the door that has not been adequately tested. I dread software upgrades from IB. IB also needs to work on the reliability of it's data feeds, as in feeds suddenly cease working for no good reason. You need an example? How about the Kospi data feed this year? See http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showt...215053&perpage=6&highlight=kospi&pagenumber=1 Maybe you should post less and spend more time on quality assurance.
If I was responding to a legitimate complaint or statement that wasn't insulting perhaps my beside manner would be different. Do note that the title of this thread is SMART routing.
On the subject of lack of quality assurance from IB, no Kospi data today and nothing on IB's calendar about the Korean markets being closed: <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3179596"> Post less, improve quality assurance, and lose the attitude.
This is the last I will reply to you on this Smart Routing Thread. Most people in Asia know it is Buddha's birthday. In an hour will you also complain that there are no quotes on the HKFE? While the events calendar is not up to date, the FX tab shows the bank holiday as well as the trading holiday calender in the 3rd tab. Stick to bigger issues please in an appropriate thread.
So now we're not allowed to insult the delicate feelings of arrogant IB reps? WTF happened to my post? The reason I look at the events calendar is because when I was trading HSI awhile back, there was no indication of the Dragon Boat holiday or whatever it was on the trader's calendar, and in chat, they said look at the events calendar instead. Now I look at events, and there are no Korean holidays listed. As for most people in Asia knowing its Buddha's bday, it's not a holiday in Japan, 125 million people and the 3rd largest economy in the world. IB calendars is another example of poor quality control and def's attitude is typical of what you get when you talk to the reps. Moreover, I want to know what he's doing posting doing Asian hours. It's absurd, that IB pays its HK employees to post on ET during Asian trading hours. Fix the calendars and stop surfing the internet, at least doing working hours anyway.
Yo, you need to channel your energy elsewhere dude. You're making a fool of yourself. It was a HK holiday and you are complaining about someone posting on their day off. Ha Ha Ha.
