Interactive Brokers or Lightspeed?

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by GetBusyLiving, Nov 21, 2009.

  1. Which platform EXECUTES trades faster in your opinion?

Going to use one or the other. Any input is appreciated.

  2. Good thread. Hope you get lots of replies.

  3. Trades are executed on exchange not in brokers office. So if you put 2 separates order on same ECN, you will be in same pool.

BTW, what is your exact question?

  4. TSU which one do you use?

Lightspeed was and still is the fastest platform I have ever traded on. Their data and simplistic platform allow for super fast quoting.

Lightspeed, simply for ease of use for most people.

  7. it depends, if you are a position trader, a retiree investor or even intraday position trading, just use IB.

however, if you are a scalper like me and hold positions typically from 30seconds to 2 mins tops, you should use lightspeed.

  8. Thanks for the info guys. I am a scalper and I will give lightspeed a try. Just curious, does lightspeed offer any type of debit card service like Fidelity does? :)

    No. Neither does IB.

  10. 98% of my orders are LIMIT buy and sell; and I use IB. Chart at IB sucks, so I use ninja for charting.

I use IB chart strictly for options and spreads. Ninja sucks there...
