    Interactive Brokers Group files for $500 mln IPO

    WASHINGTON, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Interactive Brokers Group Inc., an automated global electronic market maker and broker, filed with regulators on Monday to raise up to $500 million in an initial public offering of its Class A common stock.

    The Greenwich, Connecticut-based company said in a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that WR Hambrecht & Co. and E Trade Securities are underwriting the IPO.

  6. nice. now i can hedge against them going refco. :D will them going ipo have any effect on thier clients in the long run with regards to quality of service?
     
  7. As has happened with the Merc and CBOT, I expect to see IB fees begin to creep up to feed the quarterly earnings beast once it's public. However, I hope I'm wrong.

    IB customer deposits have been growing in excess of 10% per quarter so there should be no need to raise fees.
