Had a chat session with an IB rep, said that you CANNOT opt out until further notice (thats why it is grayed out). That being said I installed an OLDER version of TWS >> Build 931.3 and you can elect to check the "bypass market cap" ....... it is not grayed out so you are going to have to roll back to a previous version if you want it dealt with asap.

  3. Thanks for the tip. Those caps are pretty annoying sometimes, and there are other unspecificied rules IB has regarding an "orderly" market where they will cap or hold orders. I don't want an orderly market - I want a big move where I can get in early.

that is exactly why IB made it an option. You can use it but do not have to use it, Mr. IB Complainer Bozo.

if you read thru both threads regarding market cap issue you might see that the "option" is not working properly. you can have it checked, but pop up is appear and your price might be "adjusted" by IB.
not fun, when your stop is hit and you trying to exit as fast as you can.
IB acknowledge the problem and that's why they disabled it.
you have problems with me or my complaints? put me on your ignore list, but sometimes it helps for benefits of others if one speaks up..

First they came for the communists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

    Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

some people work around problems, trade, and make money. Others complain and blame everyone else for their failures. Your posts strongly point to the latter. You seem to be more invested in grinding your ax with IB than actually getting things done. If you don't like IB or you do not understand their interface and front-end then just quietly move on and work with something you do understand and appreciate. But seems ET is becoming a hub for whiners and complainers.

P.S.: You have been bitching about IB's reconnect for years it seems, others have accepted it, found workarounds or peruse their FIX gateway. The same can be said about the other 100 issues you have been complaining about. May I recommend you using an older version of TWS if you cannot mentally handle bugs in newly rolled out software? If you still have not learned that IB is not the greatest in rolling out bug free software then you are a lost case.

heh..i'm not blaming "others" here for my losses(cause i don't have any for a very long time). i'm pointing on obvious bugs. see the difference? what else is there to do,while you waiting for trade or in the trade? i'm not some "HFT" high speed mastrubator and i do have some time to kill during the day.
what "reconnect" problem are you talking about? show it to me. feel free to be more specific.
maybe you mixing it with failure to login that we have few days ago? well shit happens once in while, i kind of said that. and when asked-i confirm that it doesn't happens often. is this count as a complain?
if you read thru my posts regarding TWS bugs-i'm typically using oldest build that would work with their servers and for this particular reason i keep all copies of all builds.i do whatever i can to minimize my time with their bugs. cause i have to admit-I'm burned by daytrading so much for so many years and i'm nerve wreck as of today. last thing i need is to deal with someone elses's problems.
all i'm saying-CHECK BEFORE YOU RELEASE. CHECK BEFORE YOU RELEASE. DO NOT RELEASE EVERY WEEK.
i have a lot of other paid services and data providers, who are sponsors of ET. why i never complain about them?
cause they don't do that, what IB does. they do their job as they suppose to. and roll those changes rarely and carefully.

one again-if you have nothing constructive to add or don't like my posts-put me on your ignore list
