  4. well then prop firms should step it up and actually help traders succeed. the current software is designed for traders to fail.... you got shitty softwares like blackwood pro.. sterling etc

  5. There are lots of prop firms with custom software. Jane Street, Jump Trading, Optiver, Two Sigma, Akuna, KCG, etc. all have their own custom software. They allow you to test and execute any type of strategy, and have special hardware to route it to exchanges in microseconds. They have tick data and level 3 orderbook data, so you can use market microstructure to your advantage.

Their research/modeling software is also extremely powerful, with premade models built with machine learning, NLP, and signal processing. So, if you want to use deep learning to develop strategies, they probably already have a prototype template already. Or if you want to do arbitrage, their systems can aid you in detecting arbitrage opportunities ahead of most people. And most of the tools are built in C++ and Python, so if you believe you are lacking features, you can implement/improve upon it!

The reason this is so is because these firms hire the best of the best for their own developers and quants, and the software is made to facilitate their traders. Meanwhile, your type of prop trading companies just buy a crappily-made solution. They don't care about the quality since it's not their money being lost (it's yours).

  6. This is great as long as these "custom" solutions are supported by knowledgeable techies.

  8. Trade for? If you trade with serious prop firms, things may be different. Prop firms I traded with or being currently trading with don't seem to have issues with aspects like routing. What they provide me are satisfying and the only staff I only need to take care is to focus on the market and to make profits.

    Hi @drag0nsheath,

Do you know if any of those props you named accept remote traders? I´ve been on their webs and they all seem to be more into the market making world.

I´m seeking a prop that offer me a vertical DOm to saclp with the mouse, and seems to be impossible to find any. Do you know if any of those props have such tool on their software?

I can´t send you a PM, could you please contact me in private?. I have few questions and would be grateful if you could help me.

    Many thanks!

The firms that were mentioned are real prop firms that don't take capital from their traders. Traders there get a salary, + % of profit.
