The masking of the design does serve to silence the witnesses to its insanity. A mushroom growing in the dark seems sane. Nothing unusual about that. To be a mushroom growing in the dark...now why would anybody do that? Is that intent/design not strange? If the truth exposes the latter to the light, the mushroom cannot grow. It must remain in the dark to survive. Here is an example of how the design is masked: A "clearly true" claim of biological ancestry is not more true than the Adam-and-Eve-Garden-of-Eden myth. The sophistication of this neo-genesis myth merely serves to hide the fact that this is just another kabbala: the latest, greatest, most believable bullshit upon which mushrooms can grow in the dark. "Call no man father" is light which exposes the genesis of all things insane, ie. man, as non-existent within the darkened mind of the Son of God. Man must remain in the dark to survive. Enlightenment is actually a threat to his existence which depends on the perception of a lack of knowledge. The Genesis of Truth and Life is *our Father* [patent pending], not our-rise-from-dung. Therefore, what is in the darkened cave is really the denial of descendancy that the duped may dance with death. Every kabbala attempts to mask the smell of the origins of form. The world is a magical kabbala yielding magic mushrooms for motley crews of meme motivated mental munchkins. What is the Bible? Jesus
" Collins was looking for answers,[science] and when he didn't find them (or more likely didn't care for the answers he found), he turned to superstition.[religion]"
well... in a mad world only the mad are sane... except this world isn't mad... simply, it is not causal, but spans the whole spectrum from causal to acausal... and by construction we are ill-equiped to deal with the non-causal... despite being immersed into it and confronted daily with blinding evidence... quit the causal goggles... this mushroom's doing just fine in the dark, trust me... come into my world...
Good news! The world's cultures are well-cushioned from causal cares. It's design does defend *intelligently* against the penetration of light. Merely the valuation of it's cultures is sufficient to preserve the sights, sounds, and, uh...smells of its alledged reality. In fact, the valuation of any single aspect of the culture is enough to preserve the whole culture. To this end, the *continuum* serves as an ingenious defense. There are no continuums in Reality, nevertheless, your observation of that phenomenon is prescient. The continuum is ubiquitous and necessary for the world's need to entice value-judgements thereby to conjure credulous support of an otherwise unfounded premise. The world is actually entirely acausal. It is built on sand, so-to-speak. This is masked by a continuum of potential valuations, placing the truth on a sliding scale, as if the entirely untrue could be valued as more or less true. This serves to make it all true, for anyone willing to take the bait. Judging anything along the continuum as true, the wishful swallow the whole, hook line and sinker. Here's how the troll works: By placing elements of Reality with it's antithesis along a continuum, the antithesis is made real instead, masking its genesis. For example, what is the antithesis of a rock foundation [think: Truth]? Space? Air? Nothing? The manifestation of the continuum between rock and space would be, surprise, sand! Do this for every aspect of reality and you have *the world*. The attempt to "know" rock as nothing is what pulverizes the rock into sand. In other words, the world is the ideological manifestation of the attempt to know both good and its antithesis as one thing! It is all about diversity, mixing things up, obfuscating the issues, misdirection, distraction...all of which renders the Truth a bloody mess. A popular manifestation of this phenomenon is the idea that God can be made man, as if truth and illusion could possibly mix. This is essentially magic, the attempt to reconcile the unreconcilable. That is the whole genesis of the world. Knowledge is "good". Knowledge is power. Knowledge is real. Knowlege has a firm foundation. And knowledge is one whole. You cannot break it up into bits and pieces and maintain anything but a semblance of reality...anything other than a rediculous parody of creation. "Good" has no opposites. The world is the attempt to know it and its opposite, resulting in a powerful fantasy that appears to be rock-solid "real" for a mind that wishes that it was. The genesis of the world traces back to a singular premise. As it was "judged" to be "true", the world was built upon it. The world will end when the premise is judged rightly. Jesus
entirely acausal you say... mmmhhh... thats quite a big nail in teleologist's coffin is it not? whatever happened to charity....
the real question as I see it does design necessitate intelligent creationism??? i've seen lot shitty ineffectual design
Actually, it's an interesting story: Collins became a believer from the writings of CS Lewis. His book, Language of God, is a very interesting read. He has excellent proofs of evolution btw. Here's the new problem for basing materialism on evolution: Simon Conway Morris has shown that evolution is anything but indeterminate. One of his books is called "Inevitable Humans in a Lonely Universe". In other words, it's just as plausible that evolution could be a part of design as random, indeterminate processes. Once again, the road to using science to find proof or disproof of God leads nowhere...
Ha. Do you have a copyright on this? I would like to use it in next Sundays' sermon at the First Church of the Last Laugh. There are many "believers" here who resist finding a God who only blesses, and knows nothing of cursing, learning, time, form, evolution, or death. Jesus
My point was that using superstition, by whatever means it was acquired , is not being scientific. There's no reason to base the philosophy of materialism on anything but itself. Can you explain how anything in that book gives good reason to base it on evolution. By design I take it you mean to say intelligent design. There is nothing even plausible in ID. Only turtles all the way down. Design as a consequence of evolution is however overwhelmingly apparent. Why would anyone use science for proving or disproving the unscientific. All it takes is a little probability to find the improbable.
