There are a lot of amateur porn stars around that enjoy making movies for free.

I was hoping this thread would develop into some kind of phylosophical discussion.

  3. I personally think the music and movie industry is a great example of what free markets are about and how the people can change the world for the better. Sure by the letter you could call it stealing but that is just way to much of a narrow way of looking at it.

People think downloading is stealing but have no problem buying clothes slave labor fabricated.

Anyway, on the suply side one shouldnt be that worried.

U2 just had their most succesfull tour ever.

Indie bands only need 1 catchy song to make their name and they can totally dictate their own artistic line.

Basically it are the middle men that get cut out and that is regretable but they get replaced by others who take their place.

Imagine the banking industry undergoing the same kind of evolution as the music industry.

No more big monopolists that decide everything but a much more open market where small initiatives can thrive.

  4. Due Buy

    Due Buy

You got one thing wrong. You don't need a multimillion dollar budget to make a good movie. Scratch that two things wrong. People like to make movies.

The shift will be from high budget mega-blockbusters to low budget independent films made by local film firms. The new type of film will not be shown nationwide. It will be shown in local theaters. no matter what, people will still be wanting to go to the movies and pay for pop corn. I call it the localization of film entertainment.

Either that or Hollywood will have to accept profit only from box office tickets.

  5. Another all time record

    $1=6.39 Yuan

    http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=usdcny=x&ql=1

When I first moved to Houston back in 2000, I used to see stores like everything for 69 cents or 79 cents only

11 years passed now all those stores are gone and replaced by King Dollar where everything is $1.09 or 99 cents only where sizes of goods keep shrinking and dollar tree or family dollar where almost everything is priced more than a dollar.

If Chinese Yuan hits 4 or 5 then we will have 2 dollar stores, WTF??
