Here's why the double-standard thing works so well for Hillary Clinton.

Obama's newly formed core constituency wants a candidate who has high ethical standards. This is expected of him. They understand that in order to bring about real change in Washington and greater unity in the nation as a whole, the next president will need to have the trust and respect of ALL the people. So if Obama shows himself to be a fraud in the integrity department...he's toast.

Now here's the interesting part. If Hillary Clinton were to suddenly appear to have undergone some kind of ethical conversion, and was now interested only in working for the common good...for truth, justice, and the American way...she would lose at least half of her core constituency overnight!

Because they are COUNTING on her to play dirty! They are COUNTING on the "fix being in". They would be deeply DISAPPOINTED if she didn't pull every shady trick in the book. :p

That's what passes for a warm and fuzzy, big-family feeling among "old machine" democrats.

    Just ask Chris Matthews.
