http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/04/27/60minutes/main1553506.shtml Funny stuff. I particularly like how he describes the character he portrays in his "news" show: "I think of him as a well-intentioned, poorly informed, high-status idiot."
Colbert Lampoons Bush at White House Correspondents Dinner -- President Not Amused? âThis was anti-Bush,â said one attendee. âUsually they go back and forth between us and him.â Another noted that Bush quickly turned unhappy. âYou could see he stopped smiling about halfway through Colbert,â he reported. -------- Good job Colbert.
it was a reasonably good job at skewering bush it was just not very funny, nor up to his usual quality
bull. i am a republican. i often find colbert hilarious, and that is usually when he is skewering bush and.or the media my appraisal has nothing to do with my politix. it has to do with the opinion that i did not think it was very funny, nor up to his usual quality colbert is usually much funnier. fwiw, i find al franken hilarious. he is certainly not a republican only a partisan kneejerker would think you always have to find all bush comedic criticism funny, or you are betraying yer ideological roots that's silly. funny is funny. colbert wasn't "on", imo
