I love how the rightists pooh-pooh this and yet post thread after thread exemplifying the thesis.

    Very entertaining. :)

I've observed over the years that liberals/progressives universally struggle with reading comprehension.
    You are no exception.

  3. There is a very simple reason conservatives are critical of obama's response, or lack thereof: The man has screwed up virtually every single thing he has touched.

Most recently and closely linked to the ebola outbreak is the immigrant fiasco. Obama encouraged if not outright facilitated the invasion by tens of thousands of illegals, then quickly dispersed them around the country to make deportation difficult. We know there was little in the way of health screening even though they were carrying communicable diseases as deadly as TB. He put them on civilian airliners next to unsuspecting passengers in a show of blatant disregard for citizens' rights.

So we know from recent experience that obama puts little value on protecting the health of ordinary Americans.

We also have had numerous examples of how race obsessed he and his administration are. He wrote a book detailing his identification with africa and anti-colonialism, which was closely linked to radical marxism. Coincidentally, he attended a church that was focused on black liberation theology.

So we find it very believable, based on his track record, that he would value africans over americans and would willingly expose us to an undefinable risk for ideological reasons.

Then there is the response itself. The most basic rule for dealing with such outbreaks is to isolate them. As Rush pointed out, tyranical dictators in neighboring african countries at least had the decency to restrict travel from affected areas. Not Obama. He ludicrously is willing to depend on self-reporting by infected africans and third world security screeners. We are still waiting to hear how Patient Zero got a visa to come here in the first place, since he clearly did not meet the criteria.

In short, Obama's response has been so incompetent you have to wonder what his real agenda is.

And there it is, ebola is Obama's fault.

The existence of the virus isn't, obviously. But you don't consider it Obama's ultimate responsibility to protect the borders from the virus coming in? If Bush was President, you know you'd be all over him for it.

  6. Ironically, the criticisms in the OP apply perfectly to liberals' obsession with climate change.
