IIRC, food prices represent around 15% in the CPI basket of goods and services. This is somewhat offset by some 40% worth of declining housing/rental and household item/maintenance costs.
My good fellow these stats are revised at the whim of the keepers to reflect the agenda what ever it may be. Its called hednoic adjustments, wake up and smell the thorns. Are either get in line for the Larry Kudlow show.

I really do believe the CPI! Inflation is well anchored. I believe I believe I believe. If I say it enough, maybe it will become true. And the government never lies, honest people over there, they would never want to lowball inflation to give out lower Social Security payments and such.... that would be SNEAKY.
