I usually buy the 18 eggs pack here in Québec, Canada. Today, I paid $6.19 at IGA Co-op and that's expensive only because the store typically is expensive similar to Whole Foods in the United States. I then used my United States debit bank card and paid only $4.33 wrbtrader
Sorry Donald, egg prices have not dropped by 50%. Maybe in your twisted mind they have. Trump wildly claims egg prices have dropped 50% as Americans grapple with bird flu crisis Despite the president's claims egg prices have continued to rise due to the ongoing threat of bird flu, which has forced farmers to slaughter millions of egg laying chickens to slow the spread of the disease https://www.irishstar.com/news/us-news/breaking-trump-wildly-claims-egg-34939515
So someone printed United State Department of Agriculture/Trading Economics at the bottom of a fake chart which you found floating around on social media and cannot provide a link to. The chart doesn't even indicate if the provided prices are wholesale or retail. The closest associated information I can find is the national FOB average prices of white large eggs in wholesale markets, calculated based on the cost of 30-dozen cases of caged shell eggs with figures given in USD/DOZEN wholesale as per commodity trading markets. Which, of course, means the chart does not reflect retail prices whatsoever -- but wholesale trading prices. Why don't you go down to your local grocery store and tell us how much the eggs cost. P.S. - Gasoline is trading at $2.23 per gallon. Why don't you drive over to your local gas station and tell us if you can buy gasoline for this price at the pump.
The egg shortage has the U.S. looking to Europe to boost its supply. Here’s why that will be tough One of the biggest barriers to European egg imports is the difference in food safety regulations. https://www.fastcompany.com/9130775...king-europe-boost-supply-heres-why-will-tough "One of the biggest obstacles, however, is the approach the United States takes to preventing salmonella contamination. U.S. food safety regulations require fresh eggs to be sanitized and refrigerated before they reach shoppers; in the European Union, safety standards call for Grade A eggs to be sold unwashed and without extended chilling."
Whatever, Donald. Ignorance is bliss. BTW you have egg on your face. "The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest data showed the February retail egg prices were about $5.90 for a dozen grade A, large, up from about $4.90 in January, that’s up about 16%. That price is also higher than December’s Biden-era $4.14 and higher than the $4.82 peak price in January 2023." Fact check: Trump says egg prices are down 50% As President Donald Trump promoted his tariff hikes in an April 2 Rose Garden address, he veered back to a favorite 2024 campaign topic: egg prices. https://www.wral.com/story/fact-check-trump-says-egg-prices-are-down-50/21948627/
