Inexpensive PCIe display card to drive 4k monitor

  1. Hello everybody. It's been a while! :)

I am contemplating to get an inexpensive 39-inch 4k monitor for trading during the day and other things at night. I can pick one up for less than $400 now.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive PCIe X16 display card that can drive such a resolution (HDMI)? I realize I may need to ditch my beloved EVGA 8400 GS cards... thinking of driving the 4k monitor with one card and maybe a couple of 1080p monitors with some USB-to-VGA adapters.

    TIA

i have read some reviews on budget 4k products. Most of them cannot display text properly which trading demands. That's why dell ultrasharps are a favorite on trading floors...aside from corporate support.

Best to get yourself a budget 29" monitor with display port for expansion.

Many times have passed since that, basically like 5 years or so but I can tell you that 4K monitors are still out of touch for many many niches and I do not recommend them at all , 1080p is basically all you need, maybe 1440p, but that's it so do not try to make it just for the sake of it.
