Regardless of how you feel about it, with indian equities returning between 1-3% return on a daily basis, you really need to be a bit looney not to participate. Do people not recognize that foreign investments are a hedge against themselves? And that perhaps, if you are honest about your future, not such a bad or terrible thing to do?
