Index futures timing

  1. Some people can't get their mind wrapped around what you are doing and will have no idea how to use it even if you hold their hand. Believe me, I tried. Excellent work, and for me, I would have said you nailed the whole day rather than getting only 1 time right.

I'm glad someone else is doing what I do in a different market. I've been wanting to tackle the YM/ES for awhile now.

  3. I'm guessing 1240 might put in a low for that time frame for a reasonable buy. Of course I'm posting this 40 minutes before the fact and I have no idea if the set up will occur. Only a guess, nothing else.

I have one of a few cycle lows in the YM at 1230.

FYI, for me a cycle low doesn't necessarily mean a definite buy. It also doesn't mean a low of the day. I need confirmation to buy. I have a cycle high at 1330, so I would be looking to buy somewhere between 1230 and before 1330 after confirmation. Obviously I would watch the trade closely, knowing that I might need to exit around 1330.

  4. 100% agree, I always wait for directional signal to buy or sell near important price level.

  5. Great plan

But don't forget to make some big picture analysis to get the main trend.

Never invest against the main trend (i.e. don't short now).
