Current status. Since the dip in the bot this march, I've been back and forth between manual and auto. So far it's going in the right direction, but I'm still trying to find my footing in terms of the strategy and market to trade with. But one thing that has stuck in my mind is @poopy statement about how EOD flat is not an edge in of itself. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...trading-seriously.379391/page-10#post-5967935 https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/journal.379617/page-2#post-5969646 The more I look into my results, being flat EOD actually hurts my bottom line over time. It's hard enough to pick a direction, entries, stops; but putting a stop to a profitable trade makes the whole thing almost impossible.
Hello hilmy83, Before you invested and started running the algo what was your goals for your algo and capital invested? Was it income or wealth, or both?
Hello hilmy83, @poopy is correct. EOD Flat or non EOD Flat edges are both good. Just depends on what the trader wants in his life as far as money goals.
June was a back and forth between NQ and Dax, but mostly Dax. Lifetime of this journal. Will focus on 100% Dax going forward.
Gotta say, I a feel some affinity with Dax.. It feels...rightttt... Typically targeting 15-25 ticks on 2 FDAX contracts. Today got stopped, but no reversing, no doubling up.. This is going to be MY DOMAIN.
Took out about 20k out of trading account and added to my FEPI holding. Turning this into a split yield investing and trading journal. Probably not the best entry, but i'm not big on timing investing..
I want to go back to daily updates just so I can have some motivation in maintaining the journal. No trading on US holidays. As indicated before, I'm trading the full size Dax (fdax), trading 1-5 contracts. Goal is $1000/day. Main strategy is basically building position (not always just averaging down when price goes against me). Once I hit my $1000, I'm out. I know a strategy built around pnl is not "text book" approach, but I just want to cash in everyday and be consistent at it. Lets see how it goes from day 1 today: Cumulative $1114
Hello hilmy83, Good job buddy. I trade just like you as well day to day. I need money in my account everyday as well, so I do whatever it takes to get that cash in my account everyday.
