Thinking of restarting my bot on the FDAX. The moves looks smoother at the euro open vs trading NQ at the cash open....
Good Evening hilmy83, I think you should start your bot in as many markets/instruments as you can afford if and only if the bot show edge in those markets/instruments. Questions please: 1. What is your personal money goal or % return goal of the bot year to year for the next X-XX years? Is it to increase position size over the next years? Is it to produce an income to pay bills years over the next years? Is it to beat the S&P 500 index year to year? Make a million dollars via compound positions with the profits made using a position sizing methods? 2. Why did you turn the bot off? I thought the bot was doing very well personally.
Just want to grow 50k to 250k then withdraw from it monthly. I stopped using the bot on the NQ cause I was up 50% then 1 day took out -30% of profits. Maybe trading NQ during the most congested period wasn't a good idea. It's like picking a poker table; US session is like playing with the pros. Trading the dax maybe "easier". Let's see.
Good Morning hilmy83, Thank you for explaining. That makes sense. I'm like you as well, trying to scale 1 algo system to $1 million.
Traded the dax this morning using the bot on MT5. For some reason, executions don't show up on tradingview. Oh well, now i'm back on auto mode, we'll see how this goes on weekly basis.
Havent' tried it. I would need a working bot version for the right platform. Also not sure if shorting would be as smooth like futures.
So running more tests of current strategy, using different parameters. Seems like the closer to the end of day the session is, the more "established" the momentum would be. Start 50k Fixed 1 contract NQ
