    Sorry, my client wanted monthly income and we did liquid index ETFs that had good option liquidity. We had some CSP hit the strike but the strike was below 1 STD and we would write a a call the monday after with the CC strike 2-3%. We also would buy back/roll out if required. Not sexy but worked well..

    Traders should look for edge wherever they can find it.

  5. Edge sounds like a never-ending quest for a mythical hidden Holy Grail cup or Ali Baba's golden cave;

    Traders should just focus on trading good, or trading bad -- keep it as simple and elementary as that o_O:confused:
    It's kind of like teaching a puppy/dog to swim...the more you try...the more it kind of just gets weird. -- You just kind of let it happen naturally.

  7. Hating your job is the wrong reason to get into trading. The reason to get into trading is that you love the markets and you love trading. You need to be running *to* something not running away from something. Sorry to sound like some life coach but it's true. I was an engineering major in college. After the first 2 weeks of first semester freshman year, half the kids in the weed-out classes had changed majors. The kids that switched had been told "be an engineer, it's a good-paying job". The kids that were left were the ones that knew they'd be an engineer when they were 10. My point is you have to have a keen interest in what you're pursuing.

    You said you wanted to be your own boss. That's good but there's more than one way to do that. Maybe starting a company and being an entrepreneur is what you're really after. I know that's not for me since I'm not much of a people person and more of a nerd. Only you know what your strengths are. For me, I love the analytical/mathematical nature of option trading. Even after finding profitability there's always more to learn.

    Is your reference to option trading? No one makes money option trading unless they sell services? What would make you say that? I made a living trading options.
